Summary

The bestselling author of WomanCode presents a biohacking program for women, teaching them how to use their natural 28-day cycle to optimize their time, diet, fitness, work, and relationships。

Women have a important biological rhythm they experience every month that affects productivity, weight, sex drive, energy, and mood。 It is essential to be aware of and take care of this rhythm, but it has been widely ignored by medical, nutrition and fitness research。 So as women, we diet, we deprive, and we cram as much as possible into our day, striving to accomplish impossible to-do lists, and scheduling our lives based on a 24-hour time cycle, ignoring the intuitive time our bodies naturally keep: a monthly cycle with four hormonal phases that offer incredible advantages。

In the FLO presents a revolutionary 4-week solution to manage your energy and time according to your female biochemistry。 By working with each phase, you'll support your hormones, unlock peak creativity and performance, and avoid burnout。 You'll know exactly when to eat certain foods, clear your social calendar, or ask for a raise—and you'll have the tools to do so, including:

• Meal plans and recipes for each phase

• Charts for phase-specific exercises, work tasks, and relationship activities

• A daily planner that helps you align with your strengths in each phase

• A biohacking toolkit for navigating period problems and hormonal birth control

Alisa Vitti, functional nutrition and women's hormone expert, bestselling author of WomanCode, and founder of modern hormone healthcare company FLOliving。com, has been teaching women how to reclaim their rhythm for nearly twenty years and has witnessed the incredible rewards it offers—including losing stubborn weight, regaining energy, clearing skin, and minimizing PMS。

By getting In the FLO, you'll get more done with less effort, you'll feel better consistently throughout the month, and you'll enjoy the freedom that comes with living on your own time。

Vittie brought some helpful information to the table regarding menstrual cycles and natural ways to WORK WITH them rather than trying to circumvent them。 However, her diet and other advice for the workplace, with relationships, in parenting, etc。 seem complicated and hard to follow。 Also, her scientific and medical credentials are lacking。 I would appreciate some stats or at least some experiential verification。

It’s like I’ve always had an inkling towards the diet- hormones- digestion- mood- exercise- energy cycle。 But she just put it all in an orderly box。 I have never been so excited to join the Period Club and get my health and energy back! 🦁 Roar!

for me book starts off very rough, has a lot of water sentences, but to the end it got better。 The information is pretty good and fun to experiment with。 overall work is good, the tables and tips, the supplement guides。

This book was full of lots of interesting information and I am very eager to try a lot of it out。 I had not heard of cycle syncing before, but I think it makes a lot of sense to sync your food, fitness, and work (personal and professional) around the ebb and flow of hormones throughout your cycle。 I downloaded the Flo app and have been using it since I started reading this book。 I think in a lot of ways, the app does what the book does but in a more streamlined way。 I felt like the book had a lo This book was full of lots of interesting information and I am very eager to try a lot of it out。 I had not heard of cycle syncing before, but I think it makes a lot of sense to sync your food, fitness, and work (personal and professional) around the ebb and flow of hormones throughout your cycle。 I downloaded the Flo app and have been using it since I started reading this book。 I think in a lot of ways, the app does what the book does but in a more streamlined way。 I felt like the book had a lot of fluff, tangential stories, and unnecessary over-promotion of cycle syncing。 I wish it would have been shorter and more direct (which, again, I think the app does)。 I also wish that some of the referenced tables in the book were available in pdf form—especially as one table that combines the different concepts into one easily referenced spot。 。。。more

I didnt really enjoy the book。 Each chapter seemed to foreshadow some amazing secret soon to be revealed。 Then I read other reviews which seemed to validate my feelings。 I think I will try Vitti's most acclaimed book。 As this one may have been a repeat-ish。 I didnt really enjoy the book。 Each chapter seemed to foreshadow some amazing secret soon to be revealed。 Then I read other reviews which seemed to validate my feelings。 I think I will try Vitti's most acclaimed book。 As this one may have been a repeat-ish。 。。。more

This was the most I’ve ever learned about my hormones and how to optimize。。。 womanhood! I can’t believe we don’t learn any of this in school。 This revolutionized how I eat, how I work, and even socialize。 It’s so empowering and I hope it gets in the hands of more women to help stop so many of the hormonal and fertility related issues women struggle with in modern society。

This book was a good refresher on my hormonal cycle, since I've forgotten a lot since physiology in college。 And Vitti takes it one step further by helping women to actually understand what the various phases of their 28-day cycle actually mean, as far as what kinds of activities, exercise, food, sex, parenting, etc。 is best for each phase of the cycle。 (She also troubleshoots many period problems women may face, explaining the best way to balance hormones to help with these issues。 I mostly ski This book was a good refresher on my hormonal cycle, since I've forgotten a lot since physiology in college。 And Vitti takes it one step further by helping women to actually understand what the various phases of their 28-day cycle actually mean, as far as what kinds of activities, exercise, food, sex, parenting, etc。 is best for each phase of the cycle。 (She also troubleshoots many period problems women may face, explaining the best way to balance hormones to help with these issues。 I mostly skimmed this chapter as it wasn't super relevant to me, but I can see how it could be huge to someone else。) I found the overall message fascinating & I did take a lot of notes! 3。5/5This book could have been shorter and a lot less advertising for her membership program。That being said, there was some interesting research and for people completely unaware of cyclic living the book explained the basic concepts pretty well。 I would have liked a few more actual tips on how to implement the idea into your life。

This book is a really great way to start learning about women's reproductive health。 Although a lot of parts in this book seem like an advertisement for Vitti's Flo Method, overall, the book brings so many concepts I've never learned about before to light。 I know for a fact that my public school education did not talk about a lot of the things covered in this book and I wish it did。 Society teaches women to hate their bodies and Vitti teaches us that our bodies are powerful and important and tha This book is a really great way to start learning about women's reproductive health。 Although a lot of parts in this book seem like an advertisement for Vitti's Flo Method, overall, the book brings so many concepts I've never learned about before to light。 I know for a fact that my public school education did not talk about a lot of the things covered in this book and I wish it did。 Society teaches women to hate their bodies and Vitti teaches us that our bodies are powerful and important and that we should listen to them。 I think every woman should read this book (or at least skim it)。 I couldn't relate to all parts of the book but the first few chapters are really eye opening! 。。。more

The author does an exceptional job at explaining what is happening in a woman’s body throughout the differing phases of the hormonal cycle。 While I don’t agree with everything in the book, as one rarely does, the author has my praise for brining to light information that isn’t given to the majority of patients in the healthcare system。 There is some definite repetition present, at least in the audio book version, but it didn’t bother me much。 I read many reviews stating that she pushes her app o The author does an exceptional job at explaining what is happening in a woman’s body throughout the differing phases of the hormonal cycle。 While I don’t agree with everything in the book, as one rarely does, the author has my praise for brining to light information that isn’t given to the majority of patients in the healthcare system。 There is some definite repetition present, at least in the audio book version, but it didn’t bother me much。 I read many reviews stating that she pushes her app on the reader。 Again, I am only speaking to the audio version as I’m not aware if it differs from the physical copy of the book; however, I never felt like the author was pressuring me to buy anything of hers。 In fact, I’ve followed Alissa Vitti for some time and started ‘cycle hacking’ before I listened to this book and have never purchased anything from her。 Her website is a great source of free educational information。 Her method of following the ebbs and flows of the female hormonal cycle has been life altering for me in the aspect of understanding and listening to my body on a more regular basis。 It has helped me not feel like I must be doing the most 24/7/365。 It has encouraged me to rest when needed, power through when I know I have the energy, and reflect more on my day to day life every 28 days。 This is why this book has 5 stars from me because I believe that education has been invaluable in my life。 I wish this was required reading in schools because she covers quite a bit of information about the hormonal cycle that is not mainstream。 10/10 recommend! 。。。more

That’s just irresponsible。 Endometriosis will, in most cases, not resolve unless you have surgery。 Yes it’s important to pay attention to your emotions and practice self care, but your endometriosis will not disappear if you start paying more attention to your emotions, just like cancer doesn’t disappear if you do the same。 I hate this victim blaming narrative and that genuinely useful advice about doing different exercise according to your cycle and dietary changes you can make that may help reduce your symptoms is coupled with this guff。 Enough with the victim blaming。 。。。more

Based on the information it is both frustrating and exciting (in the sense that there is still so much to learn!) that research on the function of the woman's body is behind。 I am excited to implement the suggestions in chapters 4 and 5。The main negative is that there is a stark feminist ideology throughout the ENTIRE book。 It is clearly meant to fuel that social agenda。 I mean, talk about male bashing, hints of angry, and superior tone。 I did not mind reading the facts, but I had to skip/skim many paragraphs to get to the plain facts。 I wish I did not have to sift through so much opinion to get to the facts of the matter, and because of that I won't give it more than 2。5-3 stars。 As a female, I don't think that the harsh, male detesting language or victim mentality does either gender any good。If you want a jumping off point for cycle syncing, this is a good book for it。 All the basics are there。 。。。more
